ENG - Today I will take you with me to discover one of the most important places for me, the Lake Anterselva / Antholzer See in german. It’s an alpine lake characterized by his green-turquoise water, is at an altitude of 1642 m in the Valley of Anterselva ( a side of the Val Pusteria ) in Südtirol, and is located within the Nature Park Vedrette di Ries-Aurina. To reach it is very simple: from the Pusteria Valley turn following the signs for Rasun/Anterselva, and then just go straight on until the end of the Anterselva Valley, enjoying the magnificent view.  Further along the road that runs along the lake, you will arrive at Passo Stalle, an alpine pass that leads to Austria. Due to the narrowness of the carriageway, the section between the lake and the pass is open alternately, regulated by a traffic light: access in each direction is allowed only for a quarter of an hour every hour. The Passo Stalle is also a real paradise for hikers and for those looking for ‘tranquility and wonderful opportunities to relax. At the top, at an altitude of 2,052 m, there is also Lake Obersee and, a short distance away, the Obersee Refuge.

ITA - Oggi vi porterò con me a scoprire uno dei luoghi a cui sono più affezionato, il Lago di Anterselva /Antholzer See in tedesco. E’ un lago alpino caratterizzato da acque con riflessi verde-turchese, è a un’altitudine di 1642 m nella Valle di Anterselva ( una laterale della Val Pusteria ) in Südtirol, e si trova all’interno del Parco Naturale Vedrette di Ries-Aurina. Raggiungerlo è molto semplice: dalla Pusteria si svolta seguendo le indicazioni per Rasun/Anterselva, e poi basta procedere sempre dritti fino alla fine della Valle di Anterselva, godendo del magnifico panorama. Inoltre proseguendo sulla strada che costeggia il lago, arriverete a Passo Stalle, un passo alpino che porta in Austria. A causa della ristrettezza della carreggiata, il tratto tra il lago e il passo è aperto a senso unico alternato, regolato da un semaforo: l’accesso in ciascuna direzione è consentito solo per un quarto d’ora ogni ora. Il Passo Stalle è anche un vero e proprio paradiso per gli escursionisti e per chi è alla ricerca di un po’ di tranquillità e splendide opportunità per rilassarsi. In cima, ad un’altitudine di 2.052 m, si trova anche il Lago Obersee e, a poca distanza, il Rifugio Obersee. 

ENG - The lake is an oasis of peace, surrounded by majestic mountains and green forests and will make you fall in love at first sight: in fact it’s considered one of the most beautiful lakes of the Südtirol / Alto Adige. It is the third largest alpine lake in the region, and also nearby is the Biathlon Center of Anterselva, a sport facility that has made the valley known worldwide.  Like most South Tyrolean places, a legend accompanies this place: it is said that one day a beggar stopped on the fields of three rich peasants to whom asked alms. The three greedy peasants refused, driving him away empty-handed. The angry beggar said, “Within three days, a small fountain will appear behind your house and your eyes will open!” After nothing happened in the first two days, on the third day behind each farm a fountain was formed that gradually increased its reach, until the three peasants and their families were taken away. In that place was formed the Lake of Anterselva.

ITA - Il lago è un oasi di pace, circondato da montagne imponenti ed immerso nel verde delle foreste e vi farà innamorare al primo sguardo: infatti è considerato uno dei più belli del Südtirol / Alto Adige. E’ il terzo lago alpino più grande della regione, e inoltre nei pressi si trova anche il centro biathlon di Anterselva, una struttura che ha reso la valle nota in tutto il mondo. Come la maggior parte dei luoghi sudtirolesi, una leggenda accompagna questo luogo: si racconta che un giorno un mendicante si fermò sui campi di tre ricchi contadini ai quali chiese dell’elemosina. I tre avari contadini si rifiutarono, cacciandolo via a mani vuote. Il mendicante arrabbiato disse: “Entro tre giorni, dietro alla vostra casa apparirà una piccola fontana e vi si apriranno gli occhi!” Dopo che nei primi due giorni non accadde nulla, il terzo giorno dietro ad ogni maso si era formata una fontana che man mano incrementò la sua portata, fino a portare via i tre contadini e le loro famiglie. In quel posto si formò il Lago di Anterselva.

ENG - Lake Anterselva is a great hiking destination especially in the summer months, and from some years has another attraction to offer: along the path that runs along the lake there is an educational trail that provides information on the flora and fauna of this area. There are 16 stations including many interactive with interesting games related to the sound of water. It is an easy itinerary, accessible in about 1 and a half hours even with the stroller in tow, which offers breathtaking views of the lake while you are immersed in the calm of the forest… take all the time you have to walk through it and enjoy every moment.

ITA - Il Lago di Anterselva è una grande meta escursionistica soprattutto nei mesi estivi, e da qualche anno ha un’altra attrazione da offrire: lungo tutto il sentiero che costeggia il lago  si trova un percorso didattico che fornisce informazioni sulla flora e sulla fauna di quest’area. Sono 16 stazioni tra cui molte interattive con interessanti giochi legati al suono dell’acqua. Si tratta di un itinerario facile, percorribile in 1 ora e mezza circa anche con il passeggino al seguito, che offre scorci mozzafiato del lago mentre siete immersi nella calma del bosco… prendetevi tutto il tempo che avete a disposizione per percorrerlo e assaporarne ogni momento.

ITA -  Ma oltre alle passeggiate tranquille che potete fare in riva al lago, sia a piedi che in bicicletta, questo luogo è la partenza di molti sentieri escursionistici come il trekking fino alla Malga Huber oppure alla Malga Steinzger a 1.891 metri. Se invece siete più intraprendenti, per gli alpinisti più esperti ci sono le scalate verso i due tremila, il Monte Collalto e il Monte Collaspro.

 ENG - But in addition to the quiet walks that you can do on the lake, both on foot and by bike, this place is the departure of many hiking trails such as hiking to Malga Huber or Malga Steinzger at 1,891 meters. If you are more enterprising, for the more experienced climbers there are the climbs towards the two three-thousand, Mount  Collalto and Mount Collaspro.
